LAWRENCE, KS, September 24, 2002 --DataTeam
Systems, Inc., a leading provider of fund accounting software for
education and local governments, announces two new tools designed
to make data sharing easier -- DataBridge and ImportWizard.
"The two products have some similarities but are designed for
different purposes," Roger Haack, DataTeam President and CEO,
said. "DataBridge is designed primarily to share information
between our products, such as Fund Accounting2 (FA2) and Human Resources2
(HR2), and software from other companies that cooperate with DataTeam.
ImportWizard is used for occasional data transfers."
"One use of ImportWizard we expect to see is integration of
our Cafeteria Management software and other vendors' student information
management systems, such as those offered by HighTouch and Chancery
Student Management Solutions," software developer George Asante
said.
ImportWizard has much of the same functionality of
DataBridge but is designed to be an easy end- user tool for ad-hoc
data import.
"It has always been one of our goals to be as compatible as
possible with other applications," Haack. said. "DataTeam
Systems, Inc., was an early supporter of the School Interoperability
Format (SIF), but we decided to pull out when it looked to us that
the SIF solution was going to be too expensive for most medium and
small districts. These products allow us to exchange data with most
major applications including SIF-based solutions."
DataBridge will be released to DataTeam users in fourth quarter
2002, and ImportWizard will follow in the first quarter of 2003.
