This quarter's quick tip deals with the report
toolbar and the employee screen. We have had several clients
call in who are unable to close the employee screen because
the main tool bar was blocking the "close" or "x"
option. Here are some tips on how to remedy this problem and
avoid it in the future.
When you are unable to close the employee screen,
it probably looks like the screen in FIGURE A, where the "x"
you use to close the screen is hidden by the tool bar.

This could happen for several reasons, one of
which I will illustrate.
When you run a report, you will have this report
viewing toolbar, which in most cases is a separate floating
toolbar as seen in FIGURE B.

If the user drags the toolbar towards the top
of the screen in order to see the entire report, the report
toolbar gets added to the main toolbar, which will then extend
across the entire screen as in FIGURE C.

This results in the report toolbar showing up
in all your screens as part of the main toolbar, as seen in
FIGURE D.

To fix this, click and drag the toolbar back
down into the main screen. Click somewhere inside the outline
of the toolbar, but not on a button, as seen in FIGURE E.

This will remove the toolbar from the main screen.
You can close the little toolbar if you want to (by clicking
on thex.) You should now be able to see the entire
employee screen, as seen in FIGURE F.
