Newton Recreation Commission- Established in 1946 provides a wide variety of services for the City of Newton and the surrounding area.

The City of Newton Kansas is 30 miles north of Wichita on I-135. Newton, established in 1871. Named by a group of Santa Fe Railroad stockholders after their hometown of Newton Massachusetts.

The Newton Recreation Commission was created in 1946. Its members represent USD #373 and the City of Newton.

The Commission provides youth and adult leisure programs, sports, swimming and wellness center activities; and classes to the community. It also maintains the city's athletic fields year-round and manages the city's municipal pool in the summer.
