Lolo, MT

Lolo, MT, home of the Traveler's Rest State Park, is where the Lewis and Clark Expedition camped for several days both coming and after crossing the Bitterroot mountains. In 1806 on their return trip, they separated into two parties near Missoula, Montana about 9 miles from Lolo. The missionaries settled at St. Mary's Mission in Stevensville, about 20 miles south of Lolo. The log church they built in 1841 is still there as a historical site. Lolo is rich with history and education as well as beautiful forests and adventurous trails.
